Visitors of the Bangus Festival 2006 from the farthest part of the country and elsewhere in the world will receive a fitting recognition as the festivity features the search for “Lucky Visitors 2006.”
“Our visitors travel all the way from the farthest places only to witness the Bangus Festival, so they deserve an award,” said event chairman Councilor Joey Tamayo, sanggunian panlungsod’s chairman on tourism.
Lucky visitors will be chosen based on the following categories: most senior citizen, youngest showbiz personality, biggest family delegation, couple who came from the farthest place and longest staying guests in a hotel in Dagupan.
Project coordinator Roland Hidalgo said that in case of a tie, the candidate who came from the farthest place will be considered even as he noted that all candidates should have stayed in a hotel in the city during the celebration of the Festival.
Winning visitors will receive a symbolic key to the city, Bangus Festival T-shirts, Dagupan’s best products and other souvenir items from the festival sponsors.
The winners will be awarded during the opening ceremonies of the Kalutan ed Dagupan on April 30.
A search committee, composed of Councilor Tamayo, Hidalgo, city tourism office head Dea Que, city information office head Orpheus Velasco and Hotel Association of Dagupan president Alfie Fernandez, will spearhead the selection of candidates and the winners.
