Bangus Fest features vintage and latest cars

Car aficionados: here is your chance to see and touch vintage and latest cars.

Bangus Fest auto show will be staged on April 22 to 23 to display vintage, modern and modified autos at the center of the city plaza while various car dealers will exhibit their hottest car models at the People’s Park.

“Car lovers will definitely enjoy the exhibit of automobiles from classic to modern units,” event chair Dan Cruz said.

The event, which is part of the Bangus Festival celebration, will be composed of competing and non-competing divisions. The competition will be divided into two classifications: the car show and DB drag base.

The car show categories include: best in show, best in 4x4, best interior, best engine display, best in body kit, best in sound installation, best classic, best in paint, best in modification, best in restoration, best in sound quality, best vintage, best Volkswagen, best Japanese, best American and best European.

Competing automobiles will be judged on the basis of the following criteria: degree in difficulty of restoration, 15%; paint preparation, 15%; interior preparation, 15%; engine display, 15%; auto detailing, 15%; general appeal, 10%; and presentation, 15%. Winners will receive trophies and other souvenir items.

Aside from automobiles, there will also be a display of BMW motorcycles where spectators will be allowed to test drive the units within a designated area.

Simultaneous with the car show is the Al Fresco acoustic night to provide scintillating music starting at 7pm. For food lovers, mini-restaurants and food booths will be set up in the area.

Over the Tondaligan park on the same day, barangay officials, Sangguniang Kabataan officers and city government employees will join the staging of Laro ng Lahi, an Inter-Barangay and Inter-Department Fun Games.
